BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

Responsible for the physical distribution of Parts to Kubota Dealers and customers maintaining a first pass fill rate of 98.5% or higher. Creates and Implements processes and practices at all Parts Distribution Centers, with the goal of maximizing standardization of the operations, and with monitoring performance of the distribution centers.  Responsible for Information System upgrades and material handling equipment automation recommendations and integration at all distribution centers.  Also responsible for project management, future plans and development of the distribution network, Operational budget management and leadership development.

 

 

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:  This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:

  • Develop distribution strategies and capabilities to ensure adequate facility space and operational capacity is available to support growth. These strategies should consider whether current facilities should be expanded, or new facilities are required. Consideration should also be given to staffing needs and/or introduction of material handling automation to improve productivity.    
  • Monitor conformance to standard operating policies and track performance/productivity at all distribution centers.
  • Work with regional/divisional/and corporate management on process improvements to increase productivity and improve service to the dealer network.
  • Audit productivity, accuracy, and conformance to policies and procedures at all centers, and ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Collaborate with HO management on changes to policies or other proposals which require or can benefit from good coordination with the Distribution Centers.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise in warehouse technology, material handling solutions, and Information Systems in order to provide leadership to the Parts Distribution Centers.
  • Develop metrics and publish reports to Home Office and PDC management on key performance indicators.
  • Develop employees to grow with the company and progress their career path targeting a healthy succession plan for the distribution network.
  • Participate in the management of the relationship with 3PL Carriers meetings and negotiations to assure KTC has the best combination of cost and service.
  • Visit dealers in order to assess transportation, timeliness, packaging and other factors which effect the overall performance to our dealers.
  • Support and collaborate with KBT, KNA affiliates, and global manufacturing in any special projects to improve product distribution.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management or related field required.
  • At least 10 years of experience in physical distribution with progressive responsibilities in lieu of a degree.
  • Excellent communications and relationship skills, as the position will work with many dotted line relationships.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel is required.  Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
  • Warehouse Management, Material Handling and storage equipment and parts distribution.
  • Good understanding of best-of-breed warehouse management systems and an ability to apply the features to improve operations.
  • Spanish would be a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
