IT Support Specialist

Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions.
Job Summary
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for setting up, installing, and troubleshooting technology and software. This position will handle upgrading, servicing, maintaining end-user hardware and software. The role will work closely with end-users to offer training, solutions, and troubleshooting technical and software challenges. Provide services effectively and efficiently to ensure professional technology services and resources.
Essential Duties and Other Responsibilities:
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
- Responding promptly to service issues and requests.
- Manage Jira Service Desks requests and keep assigned tickets updated daily.
- Support the implementation of new solutions or applications.
- Providing technical support across the company, in person, Teams, or over the phone
- Connect devices to the network via switches, wireless, Ethernet, and VOIP.
- Provide individual training and end-user support.
- Maintain current and accurate inventory controls over technology resources and supplies.
- Maintain users/hardware/database for the VOIP phone system.
- Document all computer builds, daily tasks, software/hardware/permission changes.
- Maintain door security users/settings/cards/database.
- Add/Delete/Change users in multiple company-specific systems and servers.
- Maintain procedures and reports that provide technical support to the entire organization.
- Analyze records and logs to spot underlying trends and potential issues.
- Consult with IT managers and other departments as required.
- Attends weekly IT Department update meetings as well as set up and attend monthly All Call meetings.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Education/Experience/Skills Required:
- Computer Science or Programming degree strongly preferred
- 2 - 3 years of IT support experience, including installing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network operating systems experience and/or training
- High level of proficiency in MS Office Suite required. Salesforce, SharePoint and JIRA experience preferred.
- Able to operationalize their technical expertise by setting up and implementing reporting processes, policies, procedures and controls.
- Self-motivation and ability to work well independently as well as using a collaborative team approach.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing environments and requirements.
- Excellent listening and verbal comprehension skills, including ability to translate client needs to team members.
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to adhere to established timelines, processes, and procedures.
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with remote troubleshooting, preferred.
- On-site at our Cleveland Location
- Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
