What work will you perform?
Landstar, a leading provider of integrated transportation management solutions, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accuracy in all accounting tasks. This role involves reconciling accounts and assisting in the preparation of month-end and year-end financial statements. The Staff Accountant will collaborate with various departments to support financial operations, ensure compliance with company policies, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly accounting close, maintain various general ledger account reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Research and resolve reconciling transactions
- Support special projects as needed
- Prepare various account analyses and reports as requested
- Perform operational accounting functions, analysis, and prepare journal entries
Required Minimum Experience and Education:
- 2 years of experience in accounting.
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in accounting.
Preferred Experience and Education:
- Microsoft Excel experience.
- Account reconciliation/ledger experience.
- Experience tracking fixed assets.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of Excel and Word
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Organizational skills
- Working knowledge of iSeries, Access, Epicor, and Express Trak
