Heavy Specialized Transportation Coordinator

Location: Onsite Jacksonville, FL

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM

Salary Range: $18.28 - $22.86 per hour, depending upon experience

What work will you perform?

In this role, you will provide dedicated support to Landstar agents for our heavy specialized customer base. As a Heavy Specialized Regional Coordinator, you will deliver service driven assistance with excess freight while working with all aspects of the Heavy Specialized Department. You will ensure that agents and drivers (independent owner operators, aka BCO’s) understand all the rules and regulations of over-dimensional freight with safety as our number one priority.  In this role you will develop an understanding of the business and explore all opportunities for current and future success. 

Essential Responsibilities:

• Work with and assist agents with location equipment to cover their load and identifying customer heavy specialized needs.
• Update and monitor capacity locations in system to improve utilization.
• Instruct and counsel Agents and Capacity who have questions about Over Dimensional.
• Issue pre-trip advances and second advances with supervisor approval, as needed.
• Issue control numbers and facilitate high pole conference calls on over height loads as needed.
• Maintain and update Heavy Specialized Equipment Directory and work with brokerage on similar tool/BCO Platform Classification Code assignment, upgrade, and support as required.
• Make a large volume of outgoing calls daily while also handling incoming call volumes as well. 

Required Minimum Experience and Education:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year transportation experience

Preferred Experience and Education:

• Heavy Haul transportation experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent customer service skills
• Working knowledge of U.S. geography
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Problem resolution skills.
• Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work a remote Saturday rotation, once per month, 8AM-12PM
