At A New Leaf, our Maintenance and HVAC Specialist will be responsible of ensuring a reliable operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems across all sites of the agency as well as maintenance responsibilities. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining a comfortable and safe environment for employees and visitors.

 

Hourly Pay Range: $28

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8 hours daily

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:           

  • High School or GED, preferred. 
  • HVAC certification, required. 

Experience:         

  • Demonstrate skills in all major areas of maintenance, such as:  carpentry, remodeling, plumbing, electrical and vehicle diagnosing and repair, landscaping, painting, roofing and pool maintenance. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Install, remove, and repair various air quality systems, including:
    • Locate and diagnose maintenance problems on equipment
    • Perform routine maintenance
    • Quickly perform emergency repairs on certain equipment items
    • Train junior facility staff
    • Order and maintain HVAC systems
    • Meet local HVAC codes
  • Coordinate and document individual maintenance and repairs utilizing the Maintenance Helpdesk ticket software. 
  • Close all tickets completed on a daily basis.
  • Plan and execute short and long-term projects.
  • Communicate pertinent information to Facilities Manager and if needed to Chief Operations Officer.
  • Make immediate decisions regarding minor expenditures.
  • Submit all receipts through website identified by agency in a timely manner.
  • Monitor A New Leaf vehicles to include checklist, auto insurance, and repairs.  Identify safety needs.
  • Participate in on-call rotation; respond to on-call in timely fashion when scheduled.
  • Responsible for general upkeep of assigned physical facility.
  • Perform basic carpentry repairs and minor remodeling jobs.  Responsible for painting, repairs, heating/cooling, electrical, hydrating and plumbing systems, appliances, and make appropriate recommendations to Facilities Manager.
  • Monitor fire alarm systems, providing appropriate concerns/recommendations to Facilities Manager.
  • When requested, perform landscaping maintenance/irrigation (i.e. mowing, trimming, planting, etc.).
  • Interact with clients at the discretion of your supervisor and/or program management.
  • Work cooperatively with the maintenance staff in solving and troubleshooting maintenance problems.
  • Maintain and repair swimming pools, if applicable, to include necessary documentation.           
  • Drive personal vehicle or agency vehicle, including 12-15 person passenger vans, to complete daily business.

Compliance/Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation
  • Current Auto Liability Insurance
  • Clean 39 Month Motor Vehicle Record
  • Must Be At Least 21 Years of Age
  • Must be able to obtain Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card immediately upon hire (if there are any uncertainties whether an applicant may have to go through an appeal process; they are encouraged to complete that process prior to applying as an invalid card will result in termination of employment)
