Regional ICD-10 Coder

Summary:

As an ICD-10 Coder, you are a vital part of the Legacy Health team.  This individual will offer support to our staff by completing key administrative tasks. The ICD-10 Coder is responsible for converting healthcare services rendered into standardized medical billing codes, which are then billed to the client and/or the insurance company. This person must know comprehensive medical terminology, current medical billing and coding procedures, and have working knowledge of medical billing software. 

 

Education and Job Requirements:

• Associate degree

• 3-4 years in a related field, long term care experience preferred. 

• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding methodologies

• A thorough understanding of laws and regulations including HIPAA is essential

 Job Responsibilities:

• Assigns specific and appropriate ICD and CPT codes based on clinical documentation and official guidelines/regulations provided by government and insurance carriers

• Provides coding knowledge to department management, coding staff, clinical staff, and billing staff

• Knowledge of Point Click Care preferred

• Some travel will be required for this position
