Job Summary:

This position provides administrative and systems maintenance to primarily support Buyers and Merchandising Inventory Analysts in maintaining Article Master and Purchasing Data. The position is responsible for all new article creation and maintenance within SAP.

 

Primary (Essential) Functions:

  • Create New Articles in SAP.
  • Maintain Article Master data, including Pricing, Descriptions, Weights and Measures, and automated replenishment parameters.
  • Provide administrative support in Master Data maintenance not limited to SAP, including validating or entering data into Excel on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Process Special Order requests.
  • Provide support to the Manager, Merchandise Planning and Analysis for ongoing and ad hoc reporting.
  • Validate the accuracy and compliance of product information in our Master Data in SAP, especially by using product knowledge of Flooring, Moldings, and Accessories.

 

Secondary (Non-Essential) Functions:

  • Assist Merchandising with specials projects and duties, as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Intermediate level of expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Intermediate level of expertise in SAP software functionality
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to correctly perform system maintenance functions and to check work for accuracy
  • Ability to maintain focus during long periods of system maintenance activity
  • Ability to work with various levels of staff
  • Ability to prioritize workload by discerning the importance of tasks
  • Ability to be flexible in task management and adapt to changes in workflow
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks and commitments and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting information and responding to questions from co-workers, vendors, clients, and customers

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma, required
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college, preferred
  • 1-3 years of work experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

 

Supervision and Decision Making:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Working Conditions:

  • This position works in a casual office environment with moderate noise and standard office equipment (e.g. telephone, computer, copy machines) and furnishings;  occasional work in warehouse environment

 

Physical Conditions:

  • The following physical activities are required over 2/3 of a typical day:
    • Ability to effectively communicate with others (verbal, hearing, writing)
    • Walking, sitting
    • Using hands to finger, handle, grasp or feel
