Lynden Incorporated is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst II to work as part of our SeaTac based team.  You will dive into the operational side of things, ensuring our digital defenses are top-notch under the guidance of the Director of Infrastructure & Cyber Security. Consider yourself the go-to expert for managing and fine-tuning the security tools and strategies that keep us safe. With your hands-on experience and a wealth of certifications (or just solid expertise), you will have the autonomy to make real-time decisions, collaborate with teams across the company, and mentor the up-and-coming talent on our team. This is not a safety-sensitive position.

  • Lead incident response efforts, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to effectively manage and mitigate security incidents.
  • Develop and implement strategies to protect against and respond to cyber threats, including phishing, malware, and ransomware attacks.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify potential weaknesses and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide advanced information security expertise and recommendations to project teams, ensuring robust security practices are integrated throughout project lifecycles.
  • Engage in executing detailed IT risk assessments and security testing protocols, analyzing audit outcomes to develop strategies for acceptable risk levels and effective risk mitigation measures.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure data integrity and availability in the event of a security breach or other disruptive incidents.
  • Explore and evaluate the latest advancements in information security technology, testing and providing insights on deploying new or improved security hardware or software, assessing their impact on our existing setup, and advising on smooth integration.
  • Monitor and analyze security technologies, logs, and reports to detect and respond to anomalies and suspicious activities.
  • Maintain Lynden’s IT Security Incident Response Plan and actively participate in its execution when needed.
  • Review and monitor information security trends both within and outside Lynden.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on security best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, and continuously update security practices and protocols to address evolving risks

 

What we need from you:

  • 5-7 years of experience in cyber security or related IT roles, focusing on security analysis, incident response, and risk management.
  • Information Security related certification (GSEC, Security+, CEH, SSCP, GCIH, CISM)
  • A bachelor’s degree in cyber security
  • Commitment to staying updated with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies through continuous education, training, and certifications.
  • Experience in developing, executing, and managing incident response plans.
  • Ability to respond to and manage security incidents in a timely and efficient manner, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in using security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), antivirus software, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
  • Experience with network security protocols and practices.
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and their security configurations.
  • Familiarity with cloud security and experience securing cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and mitigate security threats.
  • Ability to conduct thorough security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and audits.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to create detailed security reports, documentation, and policies.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with different departments to implement security measures.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior security team members

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Knowledge of web security – OWASP
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as CMMC, GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, NIST, and PCI-DSS.
  • Vulnerability scanning and result interpretation.
  • Application technology security testing (SAST, DAST, IAST, Threat Modeling)
  • System technology security testing (penetration testing)
  • Scripting skills – PowerShell, Shell, Perl, and/or Python
  • UEBA Solution deployment and management
  • Experience managing security-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
