Customer Service Manager
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB: Supervises and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in the process of information exchange with customers and co-workers by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Directly manages and maintains the Anchorage Customer Service department’s processes
- Directly supervises the Anchorage Customer Service team
- Coordinates and confers with other managers and management of the company to initiate improvements to our service.
- Implements and enforces company policies.
- Determines work requirements and assigns personnel as needed.
- Manages Anchorage Customer Service key performance indicators.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing customer complaints and resolving problems.
- Helps motivate employees to achieve work goals.
- Dependable and consistent attendance required.
- Other duties as assigned by Company Leadership.

- Ability to Manage a Team of Employees day to day job. Includes but isn’t limited to setting schedules, interviewing applicants, disciplining, and terminating employees.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as hazardous materials shipping regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to create or modify and maintain every day processes
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and density.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to work with others.
- Must be able to type and/or use keyboard efficiently.
- Position requires ability to write, use keyboard and 10-key efficiently. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to conduct telephone communication for extended periods. Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods.
- Must possess and understanding of LTL and Truckload billing
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
