Vice President Labor Relations


Responsibilities:
• Establishing and maintaining effective employee/labor relations for all union relationships and locations
• Leading the labor initiatives to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and lead collective bargaining negotiations
• Formulating and administering labor relations policies and represent the Company before federal, state, and local entities on employment matters
• Lead collective bargaining and grievance and arbitration proceedings
• Define and articulate the organization's strategies for proactive employee and labor relations
• Develop and deliver labor relations training to all levels of the organization
• Develop strategies to resolve problematic employee situations and employee relations issues
• Maintain awareness of new and current employee/labor rules from applicable government bodies
• Manage all Collective Bargaining Agreements proactively and professionally, maintaining an accurate account of the details of each CBA allowing for budgeting, planning and management
• Collaborate with Operations and HR Business Partners to effectively manage hiring, employee discipline and terminations to avoid grievances and arbitration
• Planing and budgeting coordination with Finance for all CBA considerations


Qualifications
• 7-10 Years of Labor Relations and/or Human Resource Experience in a Union Market
• NYC Hospitality Experience Preferred
• Extensive Collective Bargaining experience
• Ability to Communicate at all levels within the organization
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
• Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information in a discrete manner
• Adaptable and collaborative work style
• Ability to present at arbitration
• Chief spokesperson at contract negotiations
• Ability to use computer to write letters, write contracts, and search for information
• Strong communication skills for both large and small groups
• Strong analytical skills and ability to find creative solutions to problems.
