Nordic Center Manager

Hood Meadows is seeking a guest service-oriented Manager to lead our Nordic Team and community. This position oversees the Nordic Center operations and events, including guest services and communication, providing team leadership, and administrative duties while working closely with other departments on operations, company initiatives, and improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and is passionate about Nordic Skiing and Snowshoeing experience.
This is a full-time, seasonal, salaried, benefitted position
Nordic Center Manager’s Scope of Work
- Manage daily operations of the Nordic Center and Snowshoe Programs
- Collaborate with Grooming team for trail maintenance
- Oversee Nordic Center Team, handling hiring, onboarding, and training
- Guide Nordic Instructor Training programs

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and skilled in problem-solving with proactive planning abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and point of sales systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, balancing priorities and schedules while motivating a diverse team to achieve goals.
- Exemplary interpersonal, communication and guest service skills.
- Desire to work outdoors in all conditions and have a passion for Nordic skiing and snowshoeing.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays from approximately mid-October to mid-April.
- Employment in this position is subject to a satisfactory background screening.
Preferred experience
- Post High School education with degree in Business or related area of study, and/or equivalent experience.
- PSIA-AASI Level I or higher certification or equivalent.
- Two years supervisory or management experience including hiring, coaching, workplace safety, retention, and team development.
- RTP Point of Sale, Dayforce, WordPress CMS experience.
- Previous experience with managing social media platforms and event promotions.
Compensation
- Minimum hiring rate: $53,997 per annum ($25.96/hour equivalent)
