Quality Assurance - Label Coordinator

POSITION TITLE: Label Coordinator

 

DEPARTMENT: Quality

 

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

The primary purpose of this position is to control the generation of labeling process and perform various tasks to ensure all labels and packaging components are compliant with all regulations and available in time for production.

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Adheres to Viant’s Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management System (QMS), US Food and Drug administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
  2. Prepares, creates and controls label masters: revise as needed
  3. Creates label files in software program based on customer specifications
  4. Ensure labels are up-to date, accurate and procured in a timely manner
  5. Print labels for production as requires by production schedules
  6. Conducts first piece inspection of job labels
  7. Follows the procedures and requirements per SOP 15-2 (control and use of labels)
  8. Perform label reconciliation as needed
  9. Prepares Documentation Packets that accompany Labels and Travelers for Production
  10. Provides support for Final Pack, Shipping and Receiving as needed
  11. Provide support within the organization as experience as needed
  12. Performs other duties as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge/Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

 

Job Experience:

  • Minimum 2-year experience in an office environment and/or in-process inspection exposure in a manufacturing environment

Skills/Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently and with fellow team members
  • Attention to detail and organization skills
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office
  • Basic understanding of math (fractions to decimals and metric conversion)
  • Basic understanding of blueprint reading, inspection equipment and sampling plans

Physical Requirements:

  • Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination
  • Minimal periods of bending, lifting, and standing
  • Significant use of hands
  • Occasional required to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment as required including:
  • Protective gowning (Safety Shoes, gown, Hairnet, gloves, protective eye wear)
