MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: Operate CNC machines and equipment used in the manufacturing of products and will work with other employees to effectively meet or exceed expectations for product quality and production rates. 

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate CNC machinery and equipment used in the manufacture of products
  • Follow operating manuals, maintenance instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Document all work performed on inspection reports and travelers/work orders
  • Performs in-process inspection of all parts and/or assemblies in accordance with the requirements stated in the work order or as otherwise stated on drawings or work instructions
  • Performs visual inspection both unaided and using microscopes
  • Performs various dimensional inspection using specific gauges, measuring tools or dimensional inspection systems
  • Deburr parts as required
  • Verify calibration on tools, gages, fixtures
  • Adjust machine offsets and work coordinates with supervision
  • Observe all Viant Safety procedures and use of proper PPE
  • Follow company safety procedures and OSHA lockout-tag out regulations for equipment under power
  • Performs additional duties as requested

 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge/Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

               

Job Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in relevant manufacturing environment, preferably in a machine shop

 

Skills/Competencies:

  • Ability to learn to read and interpret blue prints
  • Demonstrated experience using various measurement tools (tool maker scope, calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Ability to understand defects and have quality awareness
  • Light work: Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
