Position scope/summary

The Facilities Manager has responsibilities for Maintenance personnel in accordance with the business policies and objectives.  The Facilities Manager will manage equipment, facility grounds, and utilities for the plant.  Provide technical services including planning, design, construction, alteration and testing of specialized equipment

 

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Provide justification for new equipment associated with cost reductions and process improvements.
  • Review existing processes to identify and implement cost, quality, and productivity improvements
  • Ensure that daily assignments are carried out per established procedures
  • Schedule maintenance activities to meet manufacturing and customer requirements
  • Must be fully proficient in all duties related to maintaining equipment as well as the building and grounds
  • Utilize resources efficiently to manage cost, including over time, order supplies, parts and equipment that is needed for the maintenance personal
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering personnel regarding current equipment, product, fixturing and process problems in an effort to support, maintain and make improvements
  • Integrate equipment and system upgrades associated with improving processes
  • Work with Quality Assurance to establish and execute IQ
  • Deliver maintenance technicians reviews
  • Acts as a resource during audits or customer visits for questions and answers or practical demonstrations
  • Ensure that all required equipment is addressed by a documented preventive maintenance program.  Responsible for the execution of the of preventive maintenance program
  • Perform other duties related to the work described and/or assigned
  • Ensure cleanliness of work area, machines, tools, and equipment
  • Coach, mentor and develop Maintenance Technicians.
  • Coordinate/Perform the repair/routine maintenance on facilities and equipment including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, air compressors, custodial activity, building security, CNC Lathes and all tasks related to the interior and exterior conditions and appearance of the property. 
  • Maintain clean room supporting systems including filters.
  • On-call 24/7 to support manufacturing operations.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.

 

Environmental working conditions 

  • Use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, goggles, gloves, steal toe / composite toed shoes etc. per Viant policies and safe work procedures.
  • Working with cutting & machining fluids, solvents, lubricants and other hazardous chemicals using appropriate safety controls.
  • Working with metal cutting tools and equipment
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds. Comply with safe lifting practices
  • Frequent carrying, bending, standing, sitting, and repetitive motion.
  • Employee will be expected to attend safety training and participate in hazard analysis and resolution.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least 6 years of increasing responsibility in managing and leading a team; demonstrated experience building and leading technical teams and developing people.
  • Haz-Mat training is a plus.
  • Must have excellent problem-solving capabilities
  • Must have good mechanical ability.
  • Must have excellent communication skills with a lead by example philosophy.
  • Forklift operation / safety course preferred.
  • Must have automotive transportation to travel between locations and for supplies.
  • Must be flexible with workload and hours
  • Ability to complete a coordinated task at hand with little or no supervision.
  • Must have wide range knowledge of building maintenance.
  • Able to make independent decisions concerning facility maintenance.
  • Must have supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in the following trades: Welding, electronics, air compressor, machine shop, CNC lathes, hydraulics, and electrical maintenance very desirable. 
  • The ability to effectively prioritize activities and conduct duties with minimal supervision. 
  • The ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions where limited information exists.…

PAY RANGE

We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $90,000-$1100,000 annual salary.   Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
