PAYROLL DIRECTOR - CB & VR - VARIED SHIFT

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: State of Nevada Gaming Permit, Valid Driver License, and D.M.V. Driving History Printout (no more than 30 days old) .
JOB SUMMARY:
The Payroll Director oversees the overall payroll functions including, payroll processing, payroll accounting and taxes, reviewing and revising policies and procedures, as well as internal controls, system reviews and upgrades, ensures the timely and accurate payment of wages according to Federal and State guidelines for all Mesquite Gaming properties. Responsible for aggregation and distribution of key reports, including (but not limited to) the Daily Operating Report and monthly Market Analysis for all Mesquite Gaming properties.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
The Payroll Director must have a minimum 3 years experience in the management of payroll processing and/or a minimum of 3 years experience in a senior accounting or finance level position preferably with Gaming experience. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Previous experience working with Ceridian Dayforce is preferred. Excellent computer skills are required, with an emphasis in Payroll/Human Resources Information Management Systems, and with a proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook. Must be able to set priorities, plan, organize and accomplish tasks, often within strict time limitations and work well independently. Must be extremely well organized; multi-task oriented and have an aptitude for paying attention to detail. This person must be able to handle high stress situations and work well with a diverse group of personnel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee the daily Payroll operation and ensure that individual goals are being met, including the appropriate filing of Company compensation and tax information is completed on time.
- Maintain all compliance requirements as it relates to Federal and State regulations.
- Provide appropriate reporting to Senior Management as it relates to labor expenses.
- Perform internal audits as they relate to payroll.
- Prepare concise, complete payroll reports, and coordinate effectively with other departments within the Company, such as the Finance Department.
- Design and implementation of standard daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
- Compilation, analysis, and interpretation of key business data to understand Company performance. Communicate results to business owners.
- Training and support to internal customers on financial analysis and interpretation.
- Hire, train, lead, develop, motivate, evaluate, coach, and discipline employees.
- Other job-related duties as assigned and instructed by management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, libraries, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. This is a 24 hour/7 day a week work environment with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
