HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER - VR - FULL-TIME - VARIED SHIFT

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: 21 years old
JOB SUMMARY:
Maintain smooth operation of department while controlling payroll and expenditures for all Mesquite Gaming properties.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
2 years previous management experience and 1-year previous housekeeping experience required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Quality control, customer relations and ability to follow procedures required. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions required. Basic math and computer skills required. Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and holidays.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the overall operations of the department and department personnel.
- Control payroll and expenditures.
- Understand, comply with, and enforce company and departmental policies and procedures, job descriptions, OSHA regulations and standards and other written and verbal instructions.
- Motivate, encourage, train, coach and discipline as needed.
- Other job-related duties as assigned and instructed by management.
CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPECTATIONS:
- Give accurate directions, guiding the guest if needed.
- Be observant; for example, if a group of guests is checking in, know they don’t have enough towels and offer extra immediately.
- Tell the guest to “have fun” and “come again”.
- Tell about the properties and amenities to encourage the guest to have fun.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires extensive and repetitious physical exertion, bending and kneeling repeatedly, lifting, pulling, and pushing moderately heavy objects. Good sense of smell, sight and hearing required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment involves everyday risks and discomforts typical of smoke-filled environments and pet accommodated environments. Work takes place indoors and outdoors, regardless of weather. Use of safe work practices required.
