LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:  State of Nevada Gaming Permit, Alcohol Awareness Card, Valid Driver’s License, D.M.V. Driving History Printout (no more than 30 days old), Unexpired CPR/AED & First Aid Certification. 

 

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Security Captain will manage all Security Supervisors to ensure that all Gaming Regulations, Company and Security Policies and procedures are adhered to. Will assist in writing and implementing Departmental Policies and Procedures as instructed by department leadership. Will act as a liaison and assist Police, Fire, and Medical Services as situation dictates. Will act as the administrative liaison for his staff members.

 

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

 

Must have 3 years experience in Mesquite Gaming Security and have completed the Management Training course. Must be able to make sound decisions under stressful situations and in short time frames. Should possess basic math skills, be computer literate and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to deal with various personality traits, maintain self control under stressful situations and continue to conduct oneself in a professional manner during these interactions. Must be flexible and excel at problem solving. Must be able to investigate incidents and prepare accurate written reports. Must have leadership skills and be able to motivate others. Must possess integrity and the basic desire to serve and protect. Must be able to work in a tobacco-smoke filled environment. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Must possess knowledge and understanding of Nevada State Gaming Control Board Regulations, Security Dept. Policies and Procedures, and Mesquite Gaming Policies and Guidelines.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

1.     Implement and maintain all administrative/departmental documentation.

 

2.     Review reports and other written materials prepared by staff members and make suggestions, corrections, and improvements as necessary.

 

3.     Prepare schedules for staff members using proper deployment guidelines.

 

4.     Monitor, maintain attendance records and rosters to minimize costs through effective scheduling.

 

5.     Assist the Security management team with hiring, training, leading, developing, motivating, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining Security team members, as needed.

 

6.     Recognize, report, and solve trends that are contrary to Company, or departmental, safety policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing and walking on uneven surfaces, lifting of moderately heavy objects. The work may require above average strength, agility and dexterity. Long periods in a sitting position and keyboarding may occur.

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

The work environment may occasionally involve exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress requiring a range of safety and other precautions, i.e. extreme outdoor weather conditions, under threat of a physical attack by another person, mob condition, or in similar situations in which conditions cannot be completely controlled. Casino environment is tobacco-smoke exposed.
