Technical Sales Manager - Remote US or Hybrid - Heavy Travel

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Technical Sales Manager to join our team. This is a newly created role intended to generate sales growth with new customers and in new markets, as well as continue to engage existing customers. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge and sales acumen.
Location: Remote or hybrid
Pay: Starting at $130,000/year + annual bonus potential; compensation will depend on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve company targets and expand market share.
- Coordinate sales activities with other MacLean-Fogg sales teams.
- Assess potential new markets, evaluate business opportunities, and engage potential customers.
- Provide technical support and expertise to clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations, showcasing the value and benefits of our automotive components.
- Assist with negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Collaborate with the engineering and product development teams to ensure customer requirements are met and to drive product improvements.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to stay ahead of the curve and identify new opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote the company’s offerings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field; Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in technical sales with OEMs, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Strong technical background with the ability to understand and explain complex automotive component technologies.
- Understanding of product costing, as well as manufacturing flow and processes.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel nationally as required (typically, 50-75%).
- Previous people leadership experience is strongly desired.
