Position Summary:

To effectively promote and sell the Fresh Bites menu and provide an outstanding service experience to our guests.  Will deliver food, beverage or other amenities and assemble orders to go. Deliver guest requested items, amenities and/or miscellaneous items (e.g., messages, mail, faxes, packages, flowers, sundry items, gift items) quickly and efficiently so as to meet guest expectations.  Items such as rollaway beds or refrigerators are to be put in the guest rooms set up for guest use.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Greet guests upon arrival and make them feel welcome

  • Offer the hotel guest the best possible service through courteous guest contact.

  • Prepare the Fresh Bites order to standard and present it to the guest following standard handling procedures.  Assist with expediting Fresh Bite orders and preparing them for delivery

  • Check food to ensure that appearance, temperature and portions are correct and deliver the food orders in a timely fashion

  • Answer all questions about cooking methods, menu items, specials and prices of all menu items

  • Clean, clear, and re-set all service items and complete side-work checklists; keep stocked all necessary packaging and condiments for all fresh bites orders

  • Handle all deliveries for guest requests other delivery needs

  • Complete accurate delivery-recording sheets to track delivery times and completion

  • Must be signed into GXi and have the company issued iPhone on their person at all times while clocked in for their shift

  • Responsible for updating status of calls through GXi accurately (i.e. accepted, in progress, closed, requires follow-up)

  • Responsible for completing requests within the required time specified by Marriott brand standards (every request has a different timeframe assigned to it)

  • Required to check in/out with Front Office Mgr/Supervisor as well as Bluefin Mgr/Supervisor on duty at the start/end of shift

  • Track all amenities delivered to guest rooms to maintain an accurate inventory and to ensure recovery upon guest departure

  • Learn the phone system in AYS so assistance can be offered during down time.

  • Have knowledge of the property, hotel, staff and services (including hours of operation)

  • Be knowledgeable of the surrounding area; have a thorough knowledge of the guestrooms, including locations, views, amenities, features, types

  • Complete all special assignments

  • Absolute commitment to improved Guest Satisfaction Scores

  • Attendance as scheduled is required

  • Work in a safe manner

  • Carry out all reasonable requests by management which the associate is capable of performing

     

     

    Experience:

  • 1  year of experience (related or unrelated to industry), computer literacy, hospitality skills, ability to multi task, language proficiency, ability to work on high business levels

 

 

Skills:

  • Ability to read, to write, and speak English. (High School Diploma)

  • One year server experience in a high volume or dining facility

  • Effective and clear communication skills

  • Professional and friendly hospitality skills

  • Practice food safe handling procedures

  • Knowledge of wines and alcoholic beverages

  • TIPs certification or other alcohol serves safe certification is required.

  • Ability to work with the Micro’s computer system

  • Able to multi-task and organize multiple orders, thoughts, and tasks within the same given time

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Bending and lifting up to 40lbs.

  • Continually moving at a fast pace

  • Continuous standing for the full shift

  • Able to climb stairs

  • Able to carry hot and cold food items

 

Environment:

  • Hearing: Must be able to take guest orders, and hear guest request

  • Vision: Must be able to check for food accuracy, and be able to assess guest body language or expressions

  • Speech: Must be able to explain food items and specials

  • Literacy: Must be able to write and communicate orders

  • Carrying professional language and appearance

 

Equipment:

  • Room service cart

  • Trays

  • Toaster, espresso machine, coffee machine, blender

  • Micros computer terminal

  • Heat lamp
