Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent

Department: Community Reintegration Center

Full-time, Salary

Salary Range: $77,688.00 - $102,252.80/yr

 

Job Summary

This job supports and completes activities related to the supervision of repairs and maintenance of the buildings and grounds of the Community Reintegration Center (CRC). The objective is to respond to requests, repairs and needs of the facility, staff and residents housed in the CRC. The position manages the Trades, Maintenance and Powerhouse. Maintains the facility in a safe and secure manner for the staff, residents, and visitors of the facility.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and Direct Maintenance Activities - Receive and evaluate work requests and assign to appropriate staff. Complete required contractor documents and get authorization for approval of funds. Follow up on completion of projects and quality of work. Ensure the facilities remain safe and secure.
  • Management of Staff - The individual will be responsible for all elements of management duties including hiring, disciplinary actions, providing access to training, support for process improvement for positions in Maintenance, Powerhouse and Trades.
  • Customer Service - Provide feedback to all CRC facilities regarding customer-oriented problems or challenges. Work with the customers to ensure process improvement focuses on the customers’ needs and feedback.
  • Budget Planning and Execution - The individual will be responsible to develop and consolidate fiscal requirements for Maintenance, Powerhouse and Trades. These will include both contracted and in-house services that are to be provided. Prepare monthly budget projections for department.
  • Project Planning and Development - The individual will take part in requirement development for the CRC facilities. This will take the form of supervising the CRC, coordinating with AE&ES staff, maintenance staff, and supervisors, as well as direct coordination with customer requirements. Attend project meetings.
  • Monitor Service Contracts - The position will oversee various service contractors in place for facility operations. They will provide quality assurance to the county while coordinating with stakeholders.  Also ensure 100% continuity of service and that contract renewals are being processed timely.
  • Facility Improvements - Look at new technology or alternative methods to bring into the CRC to increase performance and/or reduce energy costs to operate the buildings as well as create a healthier facility.
  • Develop Replacement and Repair Programs - Track CRC assets’ condition and develop replacement schedules. Integrate those schedules into annual budget requests.
  • Ability to properly and safely operate: vehicles, forklifts, front end loaders, lifts, power tools and computers.
  • Ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education, License/Certification and Experiences

  • Current residency within the State of Wisconsin upon application required
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required and must be maintained throughout incumbency
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and five (5) years or more of work experience in Facility Operations or Construction Management OR Associate’s degree and seven (7) years or more of work experience in Facility Operations or Construction Management OR High School Diploma and nine (9) years or more of work experience in Facility Operations or Construction Management required
  • Three (3) years or more of work experience in a Supervisory, Management or Director role required
  • Basic knowledge of all related computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams required

Preferred Education, License/Certification and Experiences

  • Forklift License preferred
  • Scissor Lift License preferred
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred
