Airport Maintenance Manager

Department: Airport

Full-time, Salary

Salary Range: $98,612.80 - $119,329.60/yr

 

Job Summary

Manages maintenance and repair activities at General Mitchell International Airport and Timmerman Airport and manages related Milwaukee County assets. Oversees skilled trades, housekeeping and South Shop maintenance personnel. Prepares and manages annual operating budgets and monthly projections for several organizational units.

 

Schedule: This position will work during normal business hours Monday-Friday.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Airport Maintenance Activities - Manages and directs the activities of airport maintenance at General Mitchell International Airport and Timmerman Airport including all planned maintenance and emergency repairs. Oversees all airport maintenance purchasing contracts and service agreements.
  • Develop Replacement and Repair Programs - Track airport assets’ conditions and develops replacement schedules. Integrates those schedules into annual budget requests.
  • Personnel Issues - Oversees airport maintenance personnel issues including but not limited to hiring, corrective action, evaluation, training, and termination of employment.
  • Develop and Track Airport Maintenance Budgets - Prepares and manages the annual airport maintenance budgets. Prepares monthly budget projections and tracks associated budget details.
  • Airport Meetings - Represents airport maintenance at internal and external meetings.
  • Authorize Purchases - Authorizes purchases of equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Ability to properly or safely operate: vehicles, computers and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education, License/Certification and Experiences

  • Current residency within the State of Wisconsin required
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required and must be maintained throughout employment
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Construction Management, Project Management or closely related field AND five (5) years or more of work experience in Airport Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance, Construction or Project/Program Management OR Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management or closely related field AND seven (7) years or more of work experience in Airport Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance, Construction or Project/Program Management required
  • Five (5) years or more of work experience in a Supervisory or Management role required
  • Advanced knowledge of all related computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams required
