Located in Mankato, MN, you’ll pass over 100 iron castings we have produced. Our castings are found on trains, semi trucks, fire trucks and agriculture equipment. You’ll find our castings in hospitals, homes, businesses and fields. Our castings move, feed, power and heal the world. We are proud of the work we do at Dotson Iron Castings!

Pay Range: $23 to $31/Hour 

Available Shifts:

2^nd Shift – 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm (Monday through Friday)

3^rd Shift – 10:00 pm to 6:00 am (Sunday night through Friday morning)

Paid Overtime/Shift Differential

CNC Machinist Team members receive additional on-the-job training for understanding, implementation, programming, and functionality of their specific roles and will become experts in their field. Team Members will work directly with Production and Engineering Team Members and will also become OSHA 10 Certified.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Machine parts to specifications, preforming precision machining operations
• Use of machine tools, including but not limited to lathes, milling machines, or grinders
• Set up, adjust, and operate basic or specialized machine tools
• Design fixtures, tooling, or experimental parts
• Use of complex technical tools, CAD and CAM
• Use hand tools as required
• Follow specific process and procedures as directed
• Assure work practices are within the guidelines of OSHA standards.
• Follow all safety standards as outlined by policy and procedures
• Data Entry

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Experience using complex tools, CAD and CAM
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Degree or Certification in CNC Machining, Right Skills Now for Manufacturing Course or equivalent work experience
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing
• Ability to machine part to specifications
• Knowledge and use of gauges, micrometers, Vernier calipers, and charts to measure tolerance
• Ability to accurately and effectively use computer programs for data entry and reporting
• Ability to learn how to use machinery/equipment as needed
• Mechanically inclined
• Must have a strong attendance record
• Must have shown ability to work unsupervised
• Detail and process oriented and organized
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, background check and drug screen

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of mechanics
• Extensive experience in CNC Machining
• Understanding of iron foundry process
• Understanding of a manufacturing facility
