Motivate is looking for full-time Bike Mechanics to assist with all aspects of bike assembly, maintenance, and repair for our Boston bikeshare. Training in technical and unique aspects of bikeshare bikes will be provided.
About the role
- Complete bike maintenance, inspections, and repairs in a professional and timely manner, with a focus on quality, productivity, and safety, working indoors at one of our bike repair depots or in the field on an assigned route
- Keep detailed, accurate records of repairs using a smartphone
- Stock, organize, and use various repair tools, supplies, and other equipment
- Maintain compliance with standard operating procedures and repair methods
- Follow all safety regulations and protocols, promptly reporting safety concerns to management
About you
- You are mechanically inclined and are knowledgeable in completing repairs, prior experience working with professional bicycles or similar mechanical repairs preferred
- You have a strong commitment to safe work practices
- You are willing to work interchangeably outdoors traveling on a bike throughout our network of stations and indoors in our bike repair depots
- You are dependable, willing and able to work scheduled shifts, including off hours and/or weekends as needed
- You can lift to 75 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
