Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plans (MPI) is seeking a BI Analytics Developer to join our robust IT team. The BI Developer must be an independent contributor, and should be able to develop and support Analytics tools such as SQL, SSIS, Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx. This position will be responsible for design, development, and support of data solutions, will work closely with business users and provide analytical insights.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, abilities, and experiences, including but not limited to:

  • 7+ years hands on experience in SQL and SSIS.
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems/Technology or related field preferred; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Should be able develop ETL packages and develop, configure and deploy SSIS packages from desperate sources.
  • Proficient at Power BI– gather, prep, create data models and visualize data to produce interactive, informative dashboards.
  • Strong Alteryx knowledge and quality experience is required. Besides developing Alteryx workflows, and optimizing existing workflows, should be familiar with upgrading server, backing up Mongo DB and provide speedy resolution for any issues.
  • Strong Tableau knowledge preferred, must be able to connect to different data sources, create dynamic, interactive insightful dashboards.
  • Thorough working knowledge of EDW including designing, developing, and maintaining the existing data mart.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent attendance and reliability, with the ability to work overtime/extended hours as required.
  • Ability to accept direction and developmental guidance from supervisor.

 

Responsibilities

The primary job responsibilities are:

  • Develop interactive and insightful Power BI and Tableau visualizations and stories that are easily understood.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and manage Alteryx apps and workflows.
  • Design and create complex SQL stored procedures.
  • Providing daily operation and production support for existing Power BI, Tableau and Alteryx solutions including dashboards and reports
  • Professionally communicate to technical and non-technical staff written, oral, and formal presentations
  • Work to ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, etc.) in all aspects of data utilization and information access.
  • Participates in design reviews with other members and groups within the department.
  • Keeps abreast of BI and Data Analytics trends and technology   
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

The anticipated base salary for this position is $95,000 - $125,000 annually. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held.
