Temporary Customer Service Representative

Motion Picture Industry Pension and Health Plans (MPI) is seeking a Temporary Representative to work alongside our Visitor Center with strong customer service and teamwork skills, and a sincere desire to help others with empathy, care, and compassion within a dynamic, multifaceted environment.

This Temporary Assignment will also help guide Participants through the application process for hardship-based retirement benefit withdrawals, assist with application review, and provide related customer service support in person, over the phone, and via email correspondence.

This assignment would work 8am-5pm, with need for occasional overtime, and pays $22.50 per hour. We anticipate the temporary assignment to last until the end of this year; this could be subject to change depending on business needs.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist walk in visitors without appointments
  • Assist with in-person and Zoom appointments
  • Perform witnessing services on various MPI forms and documents.
  • Assist with appointment screening and scheduling activities including:
  • Perform screening callouts to Participants who have made online appointments
  • Schedule manual appointments for Health and Retirement Benefits
  • Monitor the Visitor Center voicemail box and return calls
  • Assist visitors with their questions, unresolved issues, and escalations.
  • Support Retirement Services Activities:
  • (a) Correspond with Participants to request forms and documents
  • (b) Send Pension and IAP applications and packets to Participants
  • (c) Monitor/track incoming forms/documents for Pension and IAP refund applications, Retirement Benefits mailboxes, Unity tickets, email, and WebEx requests.
  • (d) Send completed forms and documents for imaging
  • (e) Assign applications/forms/documents to Retirement Benefit Analysts for review/approval.
  • Interact with other departments via phone and email to help with participant inquiries and successfully resolve issues and escalations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or High School diploma
  • 1-2 years’ equivalent experience in a relevant customer service or healthcare setting.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to answer complicated questions, assist with resolving issues, and escalate issues as necessary in an accurate and effective manner.
  • Prioritization skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, multifaceted environment.
  • Intermediate or better proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Familiarity with internal messaging system.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and research skills. Must be detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Professional phone and in-person etiquette, appearance, and demeanor.
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent judgment, integrity, and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to accept direction and developmental guidance from supervisor.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) speaking a plus.
