Machine Operator-Wave Solder

SUMMARY: Operate automated machinery per written procedures and processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Operate wave solder machine and computer; set appropriate parameters.  
• Perform routine maintenance of machine.  
• Troubleshoot machinery.
• Responsible for quality control. Make adjustments as necessary to produce product within specifications. Reject product outside of specifications.
• Uses visual aids, verbal and written instruction to operate the machine. 
• Maintains records and documentation. 

• Cross-training provided as needed.
• Adheres to the quality system standards pertaining to the job. 
• Adheres to ESD requirements and safety rules.
• Produce high quality products to exceed customer expectations.
• Follows MultiTech rules and policies. 
• Clean and maintain work area. 
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills in English.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
• Good computer skills (Word, Excel); MRP and Document Control System experience preferred.
• Familiar with Vitronics and/or ITW Wave Solder Machine Software.
• Knowledge of Lean Principles.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 
• One to three months related experience and/or training. 
• On the job training provided.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Lifting requirements up to 50 pounds.
• Requires standing, sitting, and walking for periods of time.
• Use hands to finger, handle or feel.
• Reaching required.
• Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Moderate noise level. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, hearing protection, wrist and shoe straps, and ESD smock. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted.  Food is not allowed in manufacturing area. No cell phone use allowed in manufacturing area unless approved by management.
