The Credit Manager is responsible for all job functions in the Credit and Accounts Receivable Department for all Mustang companies.  This includes management of all Credit department and Accounts Receivable personnel, collection and receivables activities, audits, and coordination of accounts to the collection coordinator for legal action.

Credit Manager Responsibilities:

  • Help develop and execute overall department strategy and process
  • Oversee investigation and approval process for open accounts at all Mustang companies
  • Approve all Sales Tax Exemptions and make sure all certificates are properly scanned and indexed
  • Ensure that all UCC's are recorded properly
  • Keep record of all nonsufficient funds checks
  • Determine the propriety of service work orders in relation to customer's credit capacity
  • Manage collection activity for all Mustang companies
  • Coordinate the transmittal of accounts to the Collections Coordinator for legal action
  • Manage audits
  • Manage Credit Department and Accounts Receivable personnel
  • Develop and communicate consistent reporting of key information and stats to the executive team


Credit Manager Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Five years of direct Management experience in a Credit & Collections or Accounts Receivable role
  • Five to Ten years of direct Accounts Receivables experience
  • Fluent in all Microsoft Office applications, familiar with AR Automations
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Knowledgeable in Construction Lien Laws, Consumer Lending Laws, Bankruptcy, Litigation, and able to prepare and sign legal documents
  • Fluent in job-specific Accounting principles including recording journal entries and calculating ratios such as Days Sales Outstanding
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge and experience in Title work, and Insurance and Finance documentation
  • Experience in negotiating collections with customers
