The Director, Strategic Transformation Center Program Management is responsible for the program and project management of MVP’s portfolio of strategic transformation initiatives.

 

This role is responsible for the translation of MVP’s strategic transformation strategy into execution plans and delivery across the organization. Works closely with the STC leadership and Strategic Theme Owners to ensure the work is aligned to and prioritized based upon the strategic vision

 

Success in this role is the ability to assist in the coordination and transition to a matrix-structure ensuring the STC, Theme Owners and Initiative Leaders are working horizontally in service and support of each work stream. This horizontal thinking and approach is critical to the execution of MVP’s transformation strategy.  

 

Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Transformation Center Program Management  

  •  
  • Maintains the transformation roadmap. Focuses on maintaining overall strategic transformation roadmap, leveraging inputs and insights from initiative leaders/teams to present a holistic picture of the transformation, and strategically intervening to help leaders avoid and address potential challenges.

  • Manages and leads a team of Program Managers assigned to each theme (workstream) and ensures roadmaps are built with an eye toward cross-theme alignment.

  •  
  • Balances the ratio of full-time employees vs. staff augmentation. Is adept at managing and working with consultants.

  •  

  • Maintains day-to-day connectivity and cross-functional collaboration between the strategic initiative leaders and the STC. 

  •  
  • Collaborates across strategic initiative teams. Communicates and articulates the transformation roadmap to key stakeholders. Collects, assesses and leverages STC, work group, and business area feedback to monitor roadmap progress and inform program decisions 

  •  
  • Escalates risk as needed. Identifies and manages project dependencies, risk mitigation, and critical path items. Proactively identifies and provides solutions for strategic delivery risks and issues. Collaborates across teams to continuously ideates potential solutions to resolve high-priority risks and enables cross-functional decision-making, where applicable.

  • Monitors progress on transformation objectives. Tracks strategic theme objectives, evaluating overall transformation based on performance of all activities against objectives and key results (OKR’s) and key performance indicators (KPI’s). Proactively reports concerns to the appropriate individual/team/STC 

 

Strategic Transformation Center Project Management 

 

  • Executes project management skills with rigor and discipline, proactively driving stakeholders forward cohesively and collaboratively while ensuring proper communication and accountability. Supports capacity planning. Optimizes resource allocation and manages investment requests across various strategic initiatives within the transformation program to align different initiative timelines and meet strategic objectives

  • Optimizes transformation operations by driving the adoption of tools, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and productivity of strategic theme and initiative leaders.

  • Coordinates key meetings and events. Leads planning, prioritization, and status meetings to communication expectations, project roles, and status updates

  • Ensure the provision of subject matter expertise for the assigned projects and provide leadership on all related areas to facilitate the achievement of projects success.

  • May lead key transformation projects managing the full life cycle of project management 

 

Change Management 

 

  • Supports the development and implementation of strategies to actively drive change across the teams and support the successful implementation of the transformation initiatives. Collaborates with Talent and other key stakeholders to identify workforce change management needs and implement programs to facilitate success

  • Supports the management of change by ensuring change management initiatives are aligned and embedded in the management of the program and projects 

  •  
  • Integrates communication framework/plan into the larger project plan to ensure the right people get the right information at the right time for successful implementation and execution 

 

Qualifications: 

 

Minimum Education Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, management, industrial engineering, or a related discipline. A master's degree in a similar field would be preferred. 

 

Minimum Experience: 

 

  • - Prior experience (at least 3-5 years preferred) in a project management, business transformation, process improvement, or strategic planning role, preferably in a complex, large-scale organizational environment with exposure to health care. 

  •  
  • - Demonstrated expertise in program/project management methodologies, tools, and best practices. Experience leading cross-functional teams, navigating a matrix structure, and driving strategic initiatives is essential. 

  •  
  • - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings, effectively lead discussions, and prepare/deliver presentations for internal/external audiences 

  •  
  • - Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management and staff. 

  •  
  • - Strong results-oriented team player with a passion for driving cross functional collaboration. 

  •  
  • - Experience in SharePoint, Power BI, and the Microsoft Suite required. 

  •  
  • - Strong change management skills and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 

  •  
  • - Knowledge of business operations, strategy development, and the ability to align functional strategies with overall organizational transformation efforts.

  • - Familiarity with Agile project management principles, tools, and approaches. 

  •  
  • - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. 

  •  
  • - Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
