Basic Qualifications

 

Education/Training:  Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education or related field required: in lieu of degree consideration will be given to candidates with post-secondary education and prior directly related work experience. This position requires the employee to obtain and maintain appropriate Bank product knowledge and certification.

 

Skill(s):  

    • Strong experience in developing strategy tied to roadmaps and tactical delivery
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to align learning and development strategies with business goals
    • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining effective training programs, including but not limited to business development activities, leadership development, and coaching and mentoring of team members
    • Superior communication skills that result in high levels of cooperation and interdepartmental collaboration
    • Experience in guiding leadership and team members using a change management approach for the implementation of new programs
    • Familiarity with training vendors, learning management systems, and e-learning authoring tools
    • Passion for developing talent and ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization
    • Enthusiastic leader with the ability to positively motivate others and build effective teams
    • Innovative and solutions-oriented approach to problem solving
    • Proficient in interpreting and implementing strategy, detail-oriented and openminded
    • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and juggling multiple tasks at once

 

Experience:   A minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in related position. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry preferred.

 

 

General Responsibilities

Create and execute the corporate learning and development plan in alignment with strategic priorities. Establish both short-term and long-term goals for associate learning and development opportunities, training programs, and communication efforts in line with the Bank’s corporate culture. Provide support for strategic engagement activities and collaborate with other departments and management.

 

Essential Duties

 

  1. Develop, deliver and measure inclusive and productive training and development programs that are aligned with the organization’s strategic goals and objectives.
    1. Ensure the design of all programs incorporate learning transfer activities (pre/during/post).
    2. Facilitate and conduct training, self-guided courses, etc.
    3. Create skills assessment activities and resources.
    4. Monitor ongoing benchmarks against external best practices to ensure programs are innovative and effective.
    5. Identify resources and tools to enhance the organization’s human capital capabilities.
    6. Coordinate and provide feedback for all training classes.

 

  1. Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources and line of business leaders to strategically plan and execute multi-year, effective learning opportunities to effectively impact key business indicators.
    1. Use a needs-based analysis process, determine if the Bank’s off-the-shelf professional skill resources and/or current offerings meet the greatest business needs.
    2. Build relationships, internally and externally, to roll out experiential learning models.

 

  1. Foster internal cultural engagement in support of the Bank’s core values, advocate the importance of lifelong learning, and coordinate, develop and create opportunities for associates to engage with one another, show appreciation, and foster fun in the workplace.

 

  1. Continuously research and stay informed of the latest trends and best practices in training and development, incorporating new ideas to enhance learning experiences and anticipate future skills gaps.

 

  1. Assist in the management of the learning and development budget and tools to ensure resources are allocated effectively to maximize return on investment.

 

  1. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of learning and development professionals when/where applicable, setting high standards and encouraging innovation within the team, and provide structure, direction, feedback, and appropriate resources to promote individual growth and contribute to individual development plans.

 

  1. Communicate with Managing Director of Strategic Engagement, other department managers, and other appropriate personnel to integrate goals and activities to efficiently support corporate goals and objectives.

 

  1. Abide by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
  2. Cooperate with, participate in, and support the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g., Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
