Summary

Under the supervision of a Recreation Specialist or Recreation Leader II, this position will lead various recreational activities, afterschool sites, and summer camps. Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays. Worksite location discussed at the interview.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Creates and implements lesson plans for children and patrons of the program in areas of recreation, education, and enrichment
• Supervises children in a variety of settings including indoor and outdoor and potentially extreme weather conditions
• Ensures the safety and well-being of program participants
• Performs general cleaning of equipment and facility
• Performs daily office tasks such as filing, sorting, answering phones
• Follows the city policies, procedures and safety guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of two years of High School

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-year experience working with children
