Summary
Under the supervision of a Program Coordinator or Recreation Specialist this position develops, leads, monitors program sites, participants, and recreational activities. Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Worksite location to be discussed at interview.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops, leads, and supervises recreation programs, activities and Recreational Leaders I at program sites, recreation centers, rental facilities, and events for participants, preschool through adults
- Ensures the safety and well-being of campers and program participants
- Develops and implements lesson plans for children and patrons of the program in areas of recreation, adventure, education, and enrichment in a variety of settings including indoor, outdoor and potentially inclement weather conditions
- Maintains essential records and prepares reports as required; to include but not limited to participation reports, usage reports, accident reports, and work orders
- Receives money and records registration and membership information
- Provides support at department programs, special events and camps
- Performs daily tasks such as clean, file, sort, answer phone, copy, and other general office tasks.
- Opens, closes, and performs facility attendant duties for recreation centers and rental facilities
- Ensures City financial policies, procedures, and safety guidelines followed
- Oversees inventory and property management
- Follows the city policies, procedures and safety guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of two years of High School
- 1 year of working in related area
Preferred Qualifications
- Supervisory experience
