Summary

Performs maintenance and transportation of City of Temple Events equipment, as well as general duties assigned by the parks department.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Transports event stages and other related assets
• Responsible for the setup and breakdown of equipment, as well as working City events
• Operates heavy equipment to include a backhoe, skid steer, and tractor
• Assists with construction and repairs for event related items to include ticket booths, storage containers, etc.
• Obtains prices and purchases materials needed to complete projects and assignments
• Prepares daily assignments for staff, tracks labor with appropriate software
• Performs required maintenance at City owned event facilities
• Assists with other assignments such as playground construction, playground maintenance, shade shelter maintenance, welding, wood working and all other general park and facility items
• Performs daily maintenance checks on all equipment used, maintains records and work orders
• Uses hand tools and equipment for related tasks
• Follows all city policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned  

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years of experience operating heavy equipment

Certificates, Licenses, and registrations 

• Valid Class A CDL
