Summary
Under general supervision of the Facility Manager, this position will perform a variety of duties to provide support to the users of the facility.  Responsible for general building cleanliness, including the restrooms, collection areas, staff areas, meeting rooms, hallways, doors, and water fountains.  This position is also responsible for performing minor repairs, light grounds keeping, moving furniture, and shelving as needed, and daily room set-up and break-down. Position is part-time weekdays with some weekend work required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleans and vacuums carpeted area throughout the facility including offices, hallways, & meeting rooms
• Sweeps, mops, cleans, and buffs all non-carpeted areas including restrooms, locker rooms, common areas throughout the facility
• Removes garbage and recycling daily; cleans and sanitizes garbage containers, recycling bins as assignment
• Picks up debris on facility grounds and perform daily property inspections
• Performs deep cleaning projects as needed: light fixtures, furniture, return air vents, restrooms, etc.
  Responds to emergency situations, i.e., spills, incontinence, weather elements
• Maintains a record of inventory to submit to the Facility Manager as assigned
• Reports any facility maintenance issues and equipment malfunctions issues to the Facility Manager
• Uses hand tools, dolly, blower, genie lift, ladders, buffing machine, and other types of tools/equipment
• Assists with installations, special event preparations and daily activities including setup and tear down for all events and rentals
• Moves tables and chairs as needed by Museum staff 
• Assists with the setup & tear down of temporary exhibits for shipping as assigned
• Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of cleaning practices and related cleaning tools
• Able to ready safety data sheets for chemicals

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience cleaning large commercial buildings
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
