We are currently hiring for a Food Service Lead for at St. Ann’s Community located on the Webster Campus. The primary purpose of  this job is to provide oversight of SACC: food delivery & stocking, sanitation, documentation, supervision of utility runner positions, interactions with SACC staff, customer service initiatives, and enforcement of all  DOH and  Food Service Departmental  polices & procedures.

Job Description:

  • Consistently delivers high quality service with focus on responsiveness to customer’s needs.
  • Works to improve performance relative to the system’s organizational goals.
  • Complies with applicable organizational policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the efficiency and economy of a successful operation.
  • Demonstrates initiative and cooperation in professional working relationships.
  • Prepares documentation and audits necessary in a timely and accurate accurate manner.
  • Assists the Executive Chef in maintaining a comprehensive Quality Improvement Plan for meal services to Cherry Ridge & the SACC.
  • Assists the Executive Chef with direction of daily operations related to transport and stocking food & food service supplies for CR food service & SACC staff.
  • Assists the Executive Chef with direction of daily operations related to sanitation for the CR food service & SACC staff.
  • Assists the Executive Chef with direction of DOH documentation for CR food service & SAC staff .
  • Assists Executive Chef and works with other department leaders in maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
  • Assists the Executive Chef with enforcement of department policies and procedures.
  • Works with interdisciplinary team to maintain continuous quality in meal service.
  • Assists the Executive Chef with training & teaching SACC staff: proper cooking techniques, plating and presentation.
  • Assists the Exceptive Chef with scheduling and running cooking classes.
  • Assists the Executive Chef with teaching classes in various food related topics.
  • Assists the Executive Chef with assessment of performance of utility / runner positions.
  • Directs utility / runner positions on topics such as customer service, par stock levels,  food rotation,  food safety & sanitation and phone etiquette.
  • Assists the Executive Chef to help ensure a safe work environment.
  • Assists the executive Chef with the hiring and retention of utility / runner staff. 
  • Assists the Executive Chef and works with human resources on issues as they pertain to coaching & the disciplinary process.
  • Assists the executive Chef with compliance of in-service training and staff development within this operation.
  • Assists the Executive Chef in administering all related food service principles so that customer satisfaction and occupancy are maintained at a high level.
  • Assists the Executive Chef with maintaining an active role in community events, representing the values of St. Ann’s.

Candidate requirements:

  • Minimum A.A.S. degree in Food Service with one (1) year previous experience
  • Familiarity with a variety of cooking methods and procedures
  • Ability to sequence and schedule demands and determining timing for use in equipment
  • Successful completion of pre-employment requirements
  • Previous experience in Senior living preferred but not required
  • Must be able to work Weekend and Holiday shifts
