Responsibility Summary:

This person uses two and three dimensional CAD software for the development and maintenance of product and system designs for air pollution control technology.  Additionally uses development practices to help with New Product introductions 

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Create ducting system layouts and part designs to meet the needs of the customer. 
Using custom in house CAD add on to assist with design
Insure project design complies with standard air filtration system design parameters.  This skill will be taught if not already a competence
Uses product development knowledge to manage development new product opportunities
Generate drawings, BOM and Quote for the projects assigned
Assist Manufacturing with part drawings to document key part details for manufacturing
Partner with Inside Sales to insure customers technical questions are addressed
Interaction with Dealers and End Users to help insure design requirements

Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 
Possess a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology.
Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and print layouts     
High level of mechanical aptitude.
Expert user of AutoCAD Inventor Software. 
Desired CFD Modeling experience 
Ability to learn new graphic software to compliment the presentation of new Inventor designs.
Must be detail-oriented to avoid design errors and omissions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. 

Experience:

Two to Four years of industrial experience in a mechanical design and New product development experience 

Education \ Certifications:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school in mechanical design and drafting.
