Maintenance Worker

Section 1 — Position Summary

The position performs a variety of skilled and unskilled duties in the area of plant operations including preventative maintenance and simple repairs.

Section 2 — Major Responsibilities

1. General plant operations maintenance.
2. Observes all safety guidelines as initiated by the NTMWD.
3. Takes action to protect certain structures and equipment under emergency conditions.
4. May be responsible for responding to various emergency situations as directed by supervisor.

Section 3 — Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Must have the ability to understand directions given and be able to perform those tasks with direct supervision.

Section 4 — Education and Experience

1. Requires a valid Texas Driver's License.
2. Must possess a high school diploma or GED.

Section 5 — Environmental Factors, Activity Levels and Equipment

This position requires significant physical exertion with lifting requirements up to 50 pounds daily and up to 100 pounds weekly. Working conditions include exposure to weather, odor, chemical hazards, gases and dust. Will be required to use small hand tools, and safety equipment.
