We are seeking resumes for an Engineer Reliability (Electrical) (1 Opening) in our Wallula, WA facility.

Description of role:

We are seeking an engineer with electrical power distribution, motor maintenance and electrical system reliability program experience. A successful electrical reliability engineer will work with mill electrical maintenance personnel to improve electrical safety and system reliability. This will include ownership of the electrical safety program and stewardship of the site power system model and electrical reliability programs.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Power Distribution Maintenance Program
    • Interface with mill Utility Power supplier and coordinate switchyard service with mill production schedules
    • Develop/Manage intervals for electrical testing, cleaning, and inspections for the facility electrical infrastructure.
      • Manage distribution breaker testing for 480V, 4160V, and 12.5kV. Maintain documentation of all breaker relay protection settings.
      • Oversee switchgear cleaning intervals.
      • Oversee third-party transformer oil testing and coordinate maintenance as required.
      • Power pole inspections and maintenance coordination
    • Analyze mill-wide power quality diagnostics, identify anomalies, and develop plans for mitigation of observed risks.
    • Oversee execution of IR routes for various equipment, motor control centers, breakers, panels, transformers, VFDs, etc.
      • Coordinate with electrical supervisors to schedule needed repairs.
      • Train hourly workforce on IR inspections
    • Identify equipment obsolescence risks and develop multiyear asset plans for upgrades.

 

  • Motor Repair Specifications and Management of All Critical Spares
    • Interface with motor repair and supply shops and ensure that motor (AC, DC, synchronous AC) repairs meet or exceed EASA, IEEE and PCA standards.
    • Maintain critical spares list mill-wide and review spare motor inventory.
    • Oversee spare motor maintenance program to ensure spares are reliable.

 

  • Root Cause Failure Analysis
    • Aid in the developed of RCFA’s and allocation of resources to increase equipment uptime.
    • Review downtime reports and information to formulate and prioritize RCFAs.

  • UPS and Battery Maintenance Program
    • Oversee PM’s and battery replacement frequency.
    • Coordinate third party services as needed.

 

  • Support troubleshooting activities and participate in development of electricians’ technical skills.

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering

 

10+ years of electrical power system and motor maintenance experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

 

5+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing.

 

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications: 

5+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing.

 

Experience in a paper production facility.

 

Knowledge of NFPA70B/E.

 

Able to learn complex engineering systems and components and identify required maintenance scopes and frequencies.

Must have knowledge and skills in use of computer systems with specific experience in MS-Outlook, MS-Excel, MS-Project, and MS-Word programs required.

 

Must be a good decision maker and results oriented.

 

Problem solving skills and the ability to positively implement change are required.

Pay and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is from $83200 to $124800.

Employees (and their dependents) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, basic life, and disability insurance coverage, subject to applicable waiting periods.  Employees are automatically enrolled in PCA’s 401k retirement plan at the time of hire.  Employees are also eligible for up to 120 hours of vacation (prorated) and eleven (11) paid holidays per calendar year.
