POSITION PURPOSE

The Registered Dietitian would provide nutrition education within the Registered Dietician Scope of Practice, with a specific focus on Diabetes Prevention. The RD would conduct enrollment, intakes, assessments, consultations and provide support to participants. They develop and facilitate program curriculum with participants throughout the program. Our registered Dietitian travels across the Greater Philadelphia service area to further spread awareness and support the associations communities with resources, education and programming.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Facilitate program activities to meet the needs of our communities.
  • Develop, grow, and maintain corporate/direct and insurance payor relationships for referrals and onsite programming alongside leadership.
  • Recruit, screen, and register eligible participants into programs related to nutrition.
  • Assist with retention and commitment of program participants.
  • Develop and monitor program budget(s) to meet fiscal objectives.
  • Participate, organize, and run any meetings as it relates to objectives within grant and program requirements.
  • Maintain daily operations to adhere to all YMCA health and safety standards and policies.
  • Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
  • Conduct bi-directional communication regarding participants with their HCP.
  • Track and report all data from participants.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute professional insights.
  • Lead nutrition efforts in the service area and beyond.
  • Conduct nutrition-based activities and events.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate well with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Ability to build strong relationships, inspire confidence, and work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Understands the YMCA Mission and purpose as a cause-driven movement.
  • Demonstrated competencies in the areas of staff development, relationship building skills, communication skills, conflict resolution, and resource development.
  • Knowledge of fitness trends in the health and wellness community.
  • Seen as a member of the community and a trusted voice.
  • Professional experience conducting meetings on a virtual platform.
  • Must be able to work remotely when required and travel 25-50%
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Be able to lift 10-50 lbs. regularly for event assembly and dismantle.
  • Able and willing to travel.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and have reliable transportation.
  • Hold a Pennsylvania Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification.
  • Preferred: Certified Diabetes Educator or qualified to become certified within 12 months after hire date.
