100 Sails Service Attendant
 
Primary Responsibilities:  Responsible for the daily functions in the 100 Sails Restaurant & Bar. Welcome guest with a warm and inviting demeanor. Attentive to guest’s needs and engage with guest in conversation and establish a rapport. Deliver food items in a courteous and efficient manner, resulting in guest satisfaction. Insure prompt service according to hotel standards. Well organized and have a willingness to learn. Has ability to carry a cocktail tray for clearing tables.   

Essential Duties:

  1. Welcome and greet guest in a warm and friendly manner.
  2. Deliver water service to guest.
  3. Refresh beverages as needed.
  4. Remove dirty dishes, silverware and glassware from dining tables.
  5. Reset dining tables with clean utensils and glassware.
  6. Check food and beverage orders from hotline for accuracy. Ensure orders are complete with proper utensils and condiments. Ensure delivery is timely.
  7. Knowledge of the coffee drink/juice bar menu, restaurant menu and hotel fact sheet.
  8. Perform all opening and closing duties to hotel standards.
  9. Detailed understanding of serving equipment and usage.
  10. Maintain supplies and cleanliness throughout service period.
  11. Consistently perform tasks as specified on sequence of service standards and SOP’s.
  12. Notify manager of any problems.
  13. Perform other related duties as required or assigned by the manager.

 

Other Duties:

  1. Knowledge of the Prince Waikiki branding, history and geography.
  2. Keep dining room, surrounding area and kitchen clean and orderly.
  3. Monitor and up-keep supply inventory. Pick-up and stock linen and other supplies.
  4. Assist other waithelp and/or service attendants if needed.
  5. Recommend the resort’s restaurants and facilities to guest.

 

Working Conditions:

  1. 100 Sails bar and kitchen.
  2. Bar and kitchen noise.
  3. Fast paced environment with immediate guest service.

 

  1. Work Hours:
  2. Able to work hours shift and days determined by manager.
  3. Able to work more than 40 hours per week when needed.

 

Equipment Use:

  1. Proficient in the use of the expresso/coffee machine and tea brewer.
  2. Proficient in the use of the soda machine.
  3. Proficient in the use of cocktail serving tray.

 

Mental and Physical Demands:

  1. Able to prioritize and organize workload.
  2. Able to manage stressful and challenging situations.
  3. Able to train new employees.
  4. Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. during your shift shift.
  5. Able to stand disgruntled guest in a positive manner.

 

Communication Demands:

  1. Able to communicate effectively in English to employees, managers and guests.
  2. Able to effectively communicate over the phone in a warm and friendly manner.
  3. Able to handle disgruntled guest in a positive manner.

 

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  1. Department of Health TB clearance.
  2. Must be 18 years of age if serving selling alcoholic beverages.
  3. Hawaii State Liquor card required.
  4. Must be able to read and write in English to perform job duties.
  5. Must be pleasant, friendly and smiling.
  6. Ability to multi-task.
  7. Pass a written test on food and beverage items.
  8. Pass a practical service test.
  9. Abide by all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations, pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors
