Primary Responsibilities: Manage the daily operations of the accounting department and the Prince Resorts Hawaii (PRH) Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. Oversee accounting operations, general ledger (G/L), closing procedures, financial reporting, payroll budgets, company budgets, and forecasts.
Essential Duties:
1.Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department and PRH A/P and A/R functions, including the supervision, leadership, and training of assigned staff.
a.Develop departmental goals and objectives for the department and subordinate staff.
b.Direct the work and job assignments of assigned staff. Provide training and ensure adequate cross-training of functions.
c.Coach, provide feedback, and complete performance evaluations for assigned staff.
d.Review and approve department timesheets and payroll.
2. Manage and oversee all accounting operations, including accounts, ledgers, reporting systems, and closing procedures and ensure financial transactions are in accordance with GAAP and JSox.
a.Manage the activities required to timely and accurately complete all financial reporting requirements, including the preparation and review of journal entries, purchase approvals, maintenance of supporting documentation, reconciliations, and reports.
b.Coordinate inter-departmental functions to ensure accurate, effective, and timely processing of transactions.
c.Prepare and distribute financial statements, analysis, key metrics, benchmarking tools, and other reports used to measure financial performance. Present results to stakeholders.
3.Prepare budgets and forecasts, analyze data, and monitor results.
4. Oversee and assist with audit and tax activities.
a.Direct resources to provide necessary information and schedules for reviews, audits, tax, or other related activities.
b.Ensure audit, tax, and other regulatory submissions are completed timely and accurately.
Other Duties:
1.Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. Assist with updating and drafting applicable policies and procedures.
2.Provide input and assist in implementing process improvements and systems in response to the changing needs of the company.
3.Attend meetings as required.
4.Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
Working Conditions:

2.Occasional off island travel
Work Hours:
1.Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet goals.
2.Must be able to work weekends as required.
3.Must be able to work in excess of 40 hours per week.
Equipment Use:
1.Proficient in the use of a computer and with accounting software and Microsoft office products.
2.Ability to use various office equipment including but not limited to calculators, photocopiers, telephones, and facsimile machines.

3.Ability to write manual, memos, policies and procedures.
4.Ability to do presentations in front of small groups.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
1.Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field.
2.Minimum four (4) years of progressive accounting experience with two (2) years supervisory experience.
3.Hotel accounting experience preferred
