Make an Impact

As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will support the Civil and/or Municipal Engineering disciplines in helping to design and develop documents for a range of public and private projects, including design documents and permits for site plans, utility plans and profiles, road design, grading plans and right-of-way plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D software. This will include generating and translating design concepts into final solutions within a multi-disciplinary project team. You will also receive support to work towards your Professional Engineer (PE) licensure. 

Deliver Results

  • Produce preliminary concepts with oversite and full design phase deliverables including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, quantity take-offs, technical reports, narratives, and permit applications.
  • Assist in the preparation of calculations and analyses for stormwater management systems, sanitary sewer, water supply and distribution.
  • Assist others with field inspection and data gathering.
  • Compile crash data at intersections and prepare collision diagrams
  • Prepare Construction Permitting documents.
  • Attend municipal meetings and consult with regulatory agencies when necessary.
  • Use design software/technology, including Revit, AutoCAD 3D, HEC RAS, EPANET, MicroStation and other emerging technologies for presentation and production purposes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited program or equivalent in education and experience required for professional licensure.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required, with no driving or other infractions that would preclude insurability.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, load and unload vehicle, and drive personal or company vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer In Training (passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam). 
  • Civil engineering internships or work experience.
  • CSI-CDT certification.
  • Experience in HEC RAS or EPANET (water distribution).
