Sr. Medical Aide

Title: Senior Rehabilitation Aide

Program: 820 Residential Services

Salary Range: $26.00 -27.00/hr

Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Program Director and the Rehabilitation Aide Supervisor, the Senior RA will work with the front line Rehabilitation Aide team and assist in all aspects of program function as it relates to milieu services. The Senior RA will provide oversight and management assistance on a day-to-day basis working closely with the department supervisor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for assisting with overall management of Rehabilitation Aides.
• Responsible for scheduling and ensuring that proper coverage is provided at all times.
• Responsible for tracking, supervising and assisting in the training of staff as per OASAS  and Project Renewal guidelines.
• Assisting in facilitating team meetings and training staff.
• Assisting with supervising staff compliance with assignments.
• Conducting rounds in both programs and providing coverage when necessary.
• Monitoring staff progress and participating in the recruitment and interviewing of Rehabilitation Aide staff.
• Assessing areas of needed improvement and implementing appropriate systems.
• Acting as liaison between other shifts and staff, ensuring that all vital communications takes place and all incidents are documented properly.
• Working flexible hours and days and be on call 24/7.

Education and Essential Skills Required:

• HS Diploma required. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred. At least 1 year of experience working with clients with substance use or mental health issues.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Experience and proficiency with EHR software and MS Office.
• Ability to effectively work with a diverse team.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Bilingual a plus.
