Product Manager (Polyethylene) - Bamberger Amco Polymers

Purpose of Role: This purpose of the Product Manager role is to manage strategic supplier relationships at the corporate level and the product segments associated with those key supplier partners. This is the leader of the commercial strategy and serves as the liaison between the supplier and the sales organization.
 

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect an appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.                   

1.Maximize overall growth and profitability of the product line.

2.Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans.

3.Understanding impact of global markets, building an in-depth knowledge of product lines and the factors driving supply and demand.

4.Strategically collaborate with Leadership, Sales, Purchasing, and Planning to formulate a product offering and inventory strategy to support profitable growth.

5.Effectively managing cost negotiations, growth initiatives, supply forecasting, and price management

Minimum Qualifications / Education / Certifications

1. Education:

a. Bachelor's degree or related training equivalent - required

b. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in similar title and scope of responsibility -preferred

2. Financial business acumen as demonstrated by previous work experience

3. Sales or sales management experience preferred

4. Commodity and/or Engineering plastics market experience

5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn basic systems such as Microsoft CRM.

6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

7. Supplier negotiation experience as demonstrated by previous work experience

8. Leadership skills that can be displayed in a complex environment

9. Experience with contract and cost negotiation

10. Ability to manage time, organize, and set priorities
