Warehouse Inspector/Auditor

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The Warehouse Auditor is responsible for auditing orders on the dock to ensure the correct product and quantities are being shipped to the customer.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Verifies shipping documentation against the material and skids pulled by the shipping team.  
  • Prepares orders for shipment by verifying the 4 main key identifiers, product name and the description, warehouse lot number, manufacturers lot number, weight, and package codes on labels versus the information listed on the picking ticket and bill of lading.
  • Audit products on pallets and verifies below information against shipping documents provided by the office personnel:
    • Piece count
    • Ship date
    • Ship via (carrier)
    • Customer PO# and Part# listed on both pick ticket and labels. Auditor must ensure this information corresponds with the appropriate skid when shipping multiple materials.
    • Carrier pro number/tracking information – when applicable.
    • Ship to address on bill of lading and address labels.
    • Customer special notes when listed on the shipping documentation including re-palletizing requirements.
    • Address labels and barcodes.
    • Inspection of skids and packages for damages prior to shipment.
    • Export documents for Canada shipments and international freight
  • Documents and reports errors at the end of each shift.
  • Adhere to company policies and maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assist with the warehouse housekeeping and recycling program.
  • Must be able to lift 55lbs. repeatedly as part of the job function.
  • All other duties assigned.

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED; three months or more related experience and/or training; or comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Must have forklift experience.
  • Experience with inventory control procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as pick tickets, bills of lading, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to perform basic arithmetic.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

  • Regularly life and/or move objects 10-55 lbs. 

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

  • Occasionally required to sit and climb.

  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus
