Therapeutic Childcare Lead Teacher - LifeSpring 

 

LifeSPRING of River Edge is a nationally recognized and evidence-based residential and outpatient treatment program for women seeking recovery from substance use disorder.

 

LifeSPRING welcomes mothers, pregnant women, and women primarily of childbearing age. 

 

LifeSPRING aids women in achieving self-sufficiency in a supportive, substance-free setting especially designed to address the unique needs of women. We offer outpatient, intensive outpatient, and residential services to include individual, family, and group sessions, community support, vocational services, and parenting skills development. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct or assist with assessments 
  • Develop or assist in developing treatment plans 
  • Administer or assist with administering AAPI-2/or other approved assessment tools 
  • Facilitate or assist with groups for parents and/or children 
  • Act as liaison to other agencies involved with children in TCC services 
  • Assist with child care 
  • In the absence of the TCC Program Director/Coordinator the TCC lead staff will be in charge and will ensure all policies and procedures are met and in compliance with DBHDD. 
  • Assists TCC Program Director with any tasks when asked or given instructions 
  • Will be responsible for organizing and making sure all community and monthly events take place. 
  • Assists TCC Program Director with administrative tasks.  Attend all meetings, quarterly and TCC trainings.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned and works as an effect member of a team.  

 

Qualifications Needed (education and/or experience):

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field of human services study and six (6) months of qualifying child care experience, preferably with children of substance abusing mothers 
  • An Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or vocational institute and one (1) year of qualifying child care experience, preferable with children of substance abusing mothers. 
  • Child Development Associate credential, or a Child Development and Related Care Diploma from a vocational institute, or a similar credential where the course of study includes an intensive practicum in child care as part of the curriculum and which is approved by the Office of Regulatory Services from and accredited college or vocational institute and eighteen (18) months of qualifying child care experience, preferably with children of substance abusing mothers.
