Who you report to: Director, Manufacturing Engineering
What the job is all about:
You will manage the Process Engineering Team. The Process Engineering Team are the technical authority for all manufacturing shop floor processes. Their primary responsibility is to develop, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes in line with product, capacity, quality, and efficiency requirements.
- Process Development: Responsible for designing and developing manufacturing processes
- Process Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of manufacturing processes
- Environmental And Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that manufacturing processes adhere to environmental regulations and industry standards
- Npi Technical Review: Conduct technical review of newly released designs
- Automated Equipment Programming: Provide programming for automated equipment
- Material Selection: Collaborate with procurement teams to select and qualify materials
- Npi Build Support: Providing direct shop floor support for prototype builds
- Rca And Corrective Action Review: Conduct root cause analysis
- Skills/Process Training: Provide training to production operators and technicians
- Quality Control: Develop and implement quality control procedures
- Skills Development: support development and expansion of manufacturing skills
This position is located at our manufacturing facility in Iroquois, Ontario. Which is approximately a 30-minute drive from Kemptville, Brockville and Cornwall, or a 45-minute drive from southern Ottawa.
Who you are:
- You are a post-secondary grad in Engineering or a related field with a technical background.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment that includes exposure to process development, work instruction creation and procedure writing.
- Leadership experience
- In-depth experience in manufacturing processes and procedures and the product development process.
- Knowledge of CAD systems (AutoCAD or Inventor) is an asset.
- Advanced skill level with standard office tools (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) and Microsoft Project.
- Some inventory, logistics & planning background, project management and Lean manufacturing experience are assets.
- Capable of managing several complex tasks at a time.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical staff.
- Well-organized, persistent, attentive to details and accuracy.
- Excellent leadership, planning, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to make decisions based on the company’s best interests.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work with several functional areas as well as interact with all levels of management. Continual process/systematic improvement projects while participating as a team member.
