As a Senior Financial Accounting Analyst at Ross Video, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and complete month end close procedures, preparing complex accounting entries and reconciliations, generating required financial reports and audit support, implementing our new ERP system, developing, and implementing business process improvements and required internal controls.  With a strong working knowledge of IFRS accounting, solid experience working in all aspects of general accounting, reporting and financial systems you will become an integral part of the Ross finance team and will report to the Manager of Financial Reporting.

What the job is all about:

  • Responsible for supporting the month end close process, overseeing the balance sheet, identifying issues, and making recommendations for the accounting treatment of various financial transactions. 
  • Prepare capital schedules, reconciliations, and reports for the executive leadership team.
  • Process and reconcile deferred revenue transactions, ensuring revenue for completed services is earned in correct period.
  • Develop and maintain reports, reconciliations and working papers used for financial reporting and analysis, external audits, and year-end processes.
  • Compare anticipated financial outcomes with actual results to identify areas for improvement, develop recommendations and follow through on the required implementation deliverables.
  • Work with business partners to explain difficult financial concepts, provide data and analysis to assist in decision making and problem solving.
  • Mentor and support junior staff in resolving issues to address / streamline financial transactions and processes.
  • Support the transition to the new ERP system, the establishment of the new business processes and the identification and implementation of required internal controls. 
  • Ad-hoc project work as assigned.

 

Who you are:

  • University degree in Business/Accounting, with a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or in the final stages of completion of the designation
  • Minimum 5-7 years combined experience in accounting, finance, and audit.
  • Experience with various accounting software (LN an asset),
  • Advanced skill level with MS Office and Excel
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to explain difficult financial concepts and to interact with high credibility at all levels of the organization.
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills, and adherence to financial regulations are critical for success in this role.
  • Experience working with a High Tech, Software Products or Manufacturing organization would be an asset.
