The Senior Manufacturing Data Engineering Specialist will lead the development and optimization of manufacturing’s data systems, ensuring the delivery of insights and real-time data exchanges that drive production performance. This role will involve mentoring junior team members, working independently, driving improvements, and providing technical leadership. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to ensure timely and accurate data and help optimize manufacturing processes. You will steer the selection of technology stacks and solution designs, using third-party technologies and in-house development.

Work Arrangement: Primarily work from home (PWFH)

  • Innovative data solutions, a driving force in transforming manufacturing data into actionable insights that power efficiency and performance.
  • Design and implement comprehensive data solutions that provide actionable insights and facilitate real-time data exchanges, driving production performance and efficiency.
  • Lead technical decision-making processes, including the selection of technology stacks and third-party technologies to best support manufacturing goals.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that collect, process, and store data from diverse manufacturing systems.
  • Establish and manage data warehouses and data lakes, ensuring centralized, accessible, and well-documented manufacturing data for analysis.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technical staff to develop and maintain data portals, dashboards, and reports, offering insights into manufacturing operations and performance metrics.
  • Implement robust data validation and cleansing processes to ensure high-quality data integrity.
  • Collaborate closely with teams including manufacturing engineering, production, operational technology, and quality assurance to understand data needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Develop software tools that support automated data collection and reporting processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual efforts to connect manufacturing systems with various business platforms such as ERP and Oracle Agile, ensuring seamless data flow and integration.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in data engineering and manufacturing technologies, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance the data infrastructure.
  • Ensure that implemented solutions effectively support and enhance manufacturing and business objectives, prioritizing practical results.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.

 

Job Requirements:

Knowledge/Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, with a specialization in data science/engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of data engineering tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, ETL processes, BI Tools, and data warehousing solutions.
  • Familiarity with key manufacturing metrics and operational performance measurements.
  • Experience in creating data visualizations and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems such as MES, ERP, and SCADA.

 

Who you are:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering
  • 8 years of experience in a technical position, with a background in manufacturing
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing data pipelines, data integration, and data warehousing.
