Position Summary:

As a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician at Sandridge Crafted Foods, you will maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality across our dynamic production environment. This role involves monitoring and verifying food safety procedures and maintaining rigorous processing, receiving, and shipping standards. Supported by the QA Supervisor, you will be a crucial player in upholding our reputation for excellence.

Shift:

  • This position is for the 2nd shift.
  • An attractive shift differential is offered for 2nd shift hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and verify Critical Control Points (CCPs) across the plant.
  • Regularly check key areas' chlorine concentrations, foot baths, mop stations, and temperatures.
  • Inspect incoming products (dry, refrigerated, frozen) and check scales for accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), allergen control, and safe food practices.
  • Oversee cleaning procedures and verify their effectiveness.
  • Perform calibration of thermometers and other critical equipment.
  • Complete plant condition checklists throughout the shift and handle equipment inspections during changeovers.
  • Engage in micro-testing of raw ingredients and finished products.
  • Execute daily quality and food safety checks to ensure compliance with the HACCP plan, addressing any deviations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in other areas as directed by the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
  • Report all quality and food safety concerns/issues promptly.
  • Engage in ongoing training and compliance with the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous QA experience and HACCP Certification are strongly preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and understand food safety protocols.
  • Experience with thermometer calibration and basic safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • The role requires standing and walking throughout the shift in varying temperatures, including in cooking, refrigerated, and freezer areas.
  • The plant environment may involve damp conditions and wet floors.
