As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will provide leadership and day-to-day management of the operation’s receiving department. The Warehouse Supervisor will ensure that team members are executing their daily responsibilities and following designed workflow processes and procedures while prioritizing safety, accuracy, and productivity. While executing our Service Level Agreement to customers daily, this position ensures the timely outbound flow activities of customer products and inbound orders are received. 

  

Warehouse Supervisor Responsibilities include: 

  • Prioritize, pick, and audit customer orders for accuracy. This is very much a working supervisor position that assumes leadership in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Stage orders and load trucks for delivery. 
  • Ensure bin maintenance and cleanliness. 
  • Support the cycle count program as needed. 
  • Oversee and manage cross-dock duties as needed. 
  • Ensure products are not damaged when loaded. 
  • Support customer returns as needed. 
  • Ensure same-day processing of freight, small parcels, and E-commerce orders. 
  • Receive and put away daily inbound shipments. This is very much a working supervisor position that assumes leadership in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Unload and stage inbound products from trucks and small parcels. Ensure that products are properly marked and put away in the correct location. 
  • Validate quantities received and that the product is damage-free of all inbound products. 
  • Initiate accident reporting for all direct reports. 
  • Participate in all incident and accident investigations. 
  • Obtain proper carrier documentation for claims on damaged products. 
  • Maintain receiving documentation as required. 
  • Manage vendor and customer returns. 
  • Schedule inbound loads from XPO or carriers (if applicable). 
  • Mark all locations for put away. 
  • Ensure the product is in the correct bin/storage location. 
  • Support of the cycle count program. 
  • Ensure bin maintenance and cleanliness. 
  • Support and execute continuous improvement projects/Lean culture. 
  • Conduct and participate in team huddles and meetings as needed.

  • Manage daily workload and assign productivity goals based on customer’s demands. 
  • Ensure team members have the tools and resources necessary to focus on safety, cleanliness, and quality while maintaining an elevated level of productivity. 
  • Assure team members are trained and understand duties, responsibilities, and performance with established expectations. 
  • Analyze data and information to identify new opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement; provide thoughtful recommendations & best practice solutions. 
  • Achieve effective performance management of direct reports through observation, feedback, performance evaluations, corrective actions & consequences, and identification of retraining needs.

Leadership Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage department revenue and costs within assigned budget; provide thoughtful recommendations and best practice solutions.  
  • Identify any gaps in processes and update procedures as required by system and/or process improvements. 
  • Execute the interview/hiring process of all direct reports and support the process of indirect reports. 
  • Complete goal setting, development plans, and annual reviews for reporting staff promptly. 
  • Coach and train team members to understand duties, responsibilities, and performance with established expectations.  
  • Ensure adherence to operating procedures, legal and compliance regulations, and IT Policies to minimize risk. 
  • Promote a team member-driven culture including a focus on safety.  
  • Create and maintain open communication with team members, peers, management, and other departments.   

Warehouse Supervisor Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.  
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.  
  • Consistent work history and superior attendance record.  
  • Reliable transportation.  
  • Ability to pass the drug screen and background check.  
  • Clean driving record to pass the requirements of the insurance company.  
  • Strong PC skills with a solid understanding of Microsoft Suite Office products such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. 
  • Strong time-management skills.  
  • Ability to adapt and learn innovative technologies quickly.  
  • Demonstrated leadership skills within a warehouse/distribution setting. 
  • Thorough understanding of receiving processes including initial freight check-in, inventory handling, and cycle counting. 
  • Understanding of key order-picking processes including various methods of order selection, packing, and shipping. 
  • Experience with order demand visibility and labor planning. 
  • Experience managing operational metrics including on-time performance, driver overtime, and staff retention. 
  • Experience with inbound receipts visibility, and labor planning. 
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Ability to provide clear directions and provide any assistance needed to complete these. 
  • Previous experience working with warehouse management systems. 
  • Experience with key performance indicators that measure operational performance. 
  • Forklift certification, experience with parts picker, and powered pallet jack experience are necessary.
